The blanket exercise is an activity that illustrates the historic and contemporary relationship between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples in Canada. Participants take on the roles of Indigenous peoples. Standing on blankets that represent the land, they walk through pre-contact, treaty-making, colonization and resistance. Participants are drawn into the experience by reading scrolls and carrying cards which ultimately determine their outcomes.

Led by Kathy Dube and Andrea Deleeuw. An Elder will be present.

Registration required. Maximum: 30 participants. All attendees must bring a blanket.
